Meet the team
In our May 2008 the OFSTED inspector praised the staff "for spending much of their time directly with the children joining in with their play and asking them open-ended questions to extend and consolidate their learning. They know that children learn through play and they provide sufficient time, resources and equipment to extend children's learning and promote progression."
"I believe that it's the rural location and the caring staff at Forton nursery that offer an opportunity to really nurture and nourish children in their early years. I enjoy the opportunity that I have here to deliver the early years curriculum, in a child-friendly and creative way, while giving the children a sound foundation for future learning."

Pauline Garner, Teacher
Pauline (Mrs Garner) has been at the nursery for over 20 years, and holds a degree in primary education, she qualified in 1975. Pauline has continues to develop proffesionally by taking courses in first aid, physical development and food safety.
" Over the years there has been many changes in regard to the education and care in Early years settings. The early years foundation stage allows more time thanever for me the children and I to "play" together, whilst giving the children a firm foundation for their future learning.
Miranda Brisco, Nursery assistant
Miranda (Mrs Brisco)is the newest member of the team and joined as a nursery assistant in November 2010. She holds a diploma in pre school practise and qualified in 2000. Miranda has taken an e-learning course in safeguarding children and plans to further her proffesional development by taking classes in first aid and food safety.
"I am a mother of two children, one still attends the pre-school whilst the other now goes to school. I feel that I am helping to support the Pre-school and have a say in the children's development through the Pre-school environment. I am enjoying the opportunity to learn new skills "
